LOVE THE SERVICE! Love the vibes My server was an older woman and her service alone makes me wanna come back here! My bf had the chicken ramen I think is what it was called and I had just a classic Philly role and eel role and they were AMAZING! also idk if it's for everyone but they gave us free wonton chips with sauce (could be free for everyone idk, but not a lot of Chinese places offer stuff like that). Also they have a poke bowl bar that I will def be trying when I go back! They also have the sushi 'burritos' as well as boba!! They definitely have a lot of variety which I love. I asked the server what sake she recommended and although it was $14 per bottle I totally recommend it as it was the best thing iv ever tried with alcohol in it (I don't like alcohol a whole lot)and they give you shot glasses! We ended up getting two bottles! This place has a lovely atmosphere it's not really loud like a lot of places now a days. Was just a 10/10 experience which is hard to find these days. Will def be back!
The food was so good. The service was great as well, we went on a Saturday so it was quite busy but our server got our order together quickly. She was kind and apologized but it wasn't a bad wait. The food was delicious, I had the ikko bun and teriyaki salmon. It was delicious!
Delicious. They have a parking lot on the side of the building which is very convenient for downtown. Seated fast and service was great. It is very spacious and decorated nicely. For appetizers we ordered the egg rolls and crab puffs. Both were delicious! I'm very picky about my egg rolls and crab rangoons (puffs) and these were both fresh out of the grease and delicious. They both tasted very fresh and had a great taste. The teriyaki sauce and the duck sauce that came with them were fantastic!. I was so stuffed from an event I went to earlier that I barely tasted my chicken teriyaki but the bit I had was tasty. I got double rice which was your typical steamed white rice and the chicken was tasty. The portion of chicken was small but I would definitely come back or order takeout like many people that came in did!
Ikko is a tasty and dependable, Southside lunch option. Parking can be tricky, but I often use the lot right beside the restaurant or park a little further down the street by the library. My fav thing to get is the shrimp tapan yaki, which I didn't even take a pic of because I dove in and started eating so quickly lol. The crab puffs are also a fav cuz the fried crust and tangy sauce combo is hard to beat. They also have good sushi. The staff is also really kind and accommodating. Even when the place gets busy they're always zipping around, trying their best to take care of everyone. I often eat here alone, so I like to grab a seat by the window and people watch while I eat.
Awesome Japanese Fusion spot! I've only had take out from here no disappointments. I've had their Tonkotsu ramen, shrimp kabobs, Edamame, California rolls, egg rolls, Thai tea, strawberry green tea, mango green tea, brown sugar milk tea, and their taro. 10/10 place for good to go food!
RESTAURANT THE SPOT IKKO Japanese Ramen and Sushi 1909 11th Ave. S. #2603, Birmingham, AL 35205 SUSHI & Hibachi lovers Order Ninja (A delicious combination of NY steak, chicken, and shrimp.) Blaze Dragon (UAB) Roll (Shrimp tempura, crab meat, crab stick, and cooked shrimp, wrapped in soy paper and served with spicy mayo.) So the sushi was delicious! A+ I would def recommend this specialty roll if you haven't tried it before. The salad was what I expected (not much) but the dressing on it was real good. Had a sweet taste to it. The hibachi was good but I won't say it was the best I've ever had. STIX in Hoover, AL had me spoiled reallllll bad, lol. Nevertheless, if you're ever in the mood for some sushi and hibachi, be sure to check them out!
